Pumpkins, pumpkins, everywhere! The week before heading to the pumpkin patch we learned all about pumpkins. We made pumpkins of every size and shape. We also focused on our upper and lower case alphabet letters for our weekly skill. Here are some highlights from the week! During free play throughout the week, teacher Dayna led a pumpkin word activity where they matched up the letters to spell each of their words. Teacher Keandra taught the children to match upper and lower case letters, teacher Dezy created a pumpkin collage activity for art, and teacher Jessica led a pumpkin handprint art activity. We also had lots of fun at the creation station as usual, used our fine motor skills to sort candy corns and pumpkins with tweazers and worked out our hand-eye coordination by hammering golf tees into our big class pumpkin! This was the first week of activities where the high school teachers had planned, prepared and got up to teach the children! Aside from the great small group table activities led by them this week, here are some of the large group activities... Happy birthday!!! Brinkley, Kyle, Annalise, Melani, Tenzin, Helena, and Adree all celebrated their birthday with us this month!
