Welcome to the 2020-21 school year! For those of you who are new to us, we hope that we can get to know you and that you can get to know us through this forum until we are able to get together in person. For those returning, we sure miss you and we know that you will continue to grow as learners throughout this time! We are trying out a new format for you this year. Our weekly themes have been broadened. We will be exploring many ideas within each broad theme, some of which will be similar to past years, and some we have chosen to leave out. We really wanted to focus on the most relevant and meaningful topics and concepts, with the understanding that families will be able to participate at varying levels. Parents and preschoolers can use the linked weekly activity menu to choose any of the activities provided. While the activities are broken into content focus, such as art, language, or science...you will find that many lessons will have multiple content areas included. So even if you don't do a "language" activity, you may find that the art activity involves language opportunities as well, or math or science concepts. There is no need to feel like all activities need to, or should, be done each week. It is important that children find joy in learning, and with options, children and parents can hopefully find things that fit your individual needs and interest levels throughout the week. Story readings or other "extras" will be posted separately, just below the menu choices. We hope that this format is user friendly for all and helpful in getting you some resources to use! Watch these short videos for an introduction to your teachers!
Fall Week 1 Activity Menu:Below is our first week of fall activities. By clicking the activity menu, you are linked to a Google Slide. Each activity slide includes a description of the activity and a link to a detailed lesson plan for parents to follow. The high school students will begin creating lessons for the activity menu in a couple of weeks. Until then, I will do my best to provide more activities in these next two weeks. Have fun, and please share pictures of your hard work and play to [email protected]!!
