Now this week we had fun with our theme of Dr.Seuss! Of course we started the day with free play and asked our preschoolers a little pre-survey question… "Do you think you'll like green eggs and ham?" The kids answered this question based on not knowing what green eggs and ham tasted like. Stay tuned to see what our preschoolers said after they tried them! Photos of the day!! This was a fun activity singing a Dr. Seuss inspired version of BINGO! Dr. Seuss, he was a guy who wrote a lot of stories, S-E-U-S-S, he wrote a lot of stories! As a group art activity, teacher Natasha showed the preschoolers a Dr.Seuss book, called "There's a Wocket in my Pocket." The wockets did all sorts of things throughout the book. While creating their own, we asked the preschoolers, if you had a wocket in your pocket, what would it look like? What would it do when it escaped from your pocket? After art the kids watched a couple of Dr. Seuss cartoons and snacked on some popcorn! Can you guess what they watched? This week we also had an extra day of preschool. Here are some of the highlights!! The last day of this week the preschoolers had fun enjoying our final day of Dr.Seuss theme week, including a special lunch! Alana brought back our color detective bag and brought back the color green! After sharing with the class what green things she had at home she picked one green thing that gets to stay on our class color wall. Kent also got to share his favorite part of the book that he got to take home and write about in the class journal! Continuing our day! Now today was the day! The preschoolers finally got to try green eggs and ham!! The high schoolers in the feast program at century cooked the special meal our preschoolers got to try today! They had green eggs and ham, some biscuits and some yummy fruit salad! Thank you feast teachers! The taste testing begins! Going back for seconds!!! Getting to serve ourselves was a fun part of this "family style" lunch. Last question of the day… Did you like green eggs and ham!? |
