Table Activities! This weeks theme was postal service! It was also valentines week, and we had a lot of fun making things for others! At the art table we made love birds by gluing down tissue paper onto paper plates cut into bird shapes. We had a fun activity of sorting mail into the boxes they belonged in! We decorated hearts with a variety of pink and red Valentines decorations at the creation table. At the language table we wrote letters to one of our friends in class which were later delivered during circle time! The preschoolers painted hearts with sponges at the easel! There was an activity that involved weighing and sorting packages at the science table to learn about how the postal service works! Other Centers! This week we had so much fun solving puzzles and playing games with our friends! Birthdays!Happy birthday Caleb and Emmy! Valentines Fun!It was so fun to see everyone's creative boxes! They all did a beautiful job and we could tell that they really put time and effort into their mail box, and that they really led the creative process for themselves! Awesome job!! :) Rainy Day Activity! For a rainy day activity this week have your preschooler write and mail a letter! Pick a friend or family member and have your preschooler draw pictures or write out a message. Either drop it off at the post office, or put it in your mail box to be delivered!

This week we learned about different types of careers! We focused on learning about different community helpers, and what they do to help others and make the community better for all. Take a look at what a great week we had! Table Activities!During our table activities this week we explored many different careers! At the language table they matched careers. The preschoolers practiced being teachers by writing their names on chalk boards and white boards. There was an activity where the preschoolers got to be the cashier or customers of a grocery store and they used a list and money to get their items! Practicing being scientists, we made play dough out of shaving cream and corn starch. Preschoolers preformed checkups for babies by weighing them and assessing other parts of their health. At the creation tables there were police badges so they could direct traffic in the hall! We went over past safety skills and made firefighters at the art table! The preschoolers also made their own tool belts at the art table. Another activity was creating a firetruck and fire. The fire was made by putting red, orange and yellow paint onto paper and squishing it around under saran wrap. Driving Fun!Other Centers! This week during our other centers we had a lot of fun playing with our friends! With our theme being careers, we had a workshop that we built with nails, screws and tools. The preschoolers loved working on building this! Just For Fun!Rainy Day Activity!Stethoscopes!
When making this activity preschoolers can explore medical careers! Once you have made the stethoscope they can then practice being a veterinarian or doctor by giving check ups to stuffed animals or dolls! |
