Last Week was full of excitement as our chicks were bigger and we got to hold them, and we got a visit from a garbage truck! The preschoolers were so excited to see how a garbage truck works. Thank you Valley West for taking time out to stop by! Last week we learned about recycling and different ways to help keep the Earth healthy!
I am guessing that many of you have been propositioned into getting a chick or two?! Many of our preschoolers requested to take a chick home. :) The chicks are now at their new home with teacher Cassidy, where they will live happily and provide eggs for the family. Cassidy was a big help in this whole process by loaning us supplies and giving us advice along the way. Rainy Day Activity: |

SMILES AND SUNSHINE!
Welcome to the world Friends!
Rainy (or Sunny!) Day Activity:
This weeks activity could easily be done either outdoors or indoors, its a Spider Web Obstacle Course!
What you'll need:
- lots of yarn or rope
What you'll do:
- Take a continuous string of yarn and wrap it around all you can: couches, tables, door nobs, cabinets, railings, anything sturdy enough to hold the yarn! Or outside: trees, benches, decking, chairs, bushes- anything! This activity is really easy and fun as you guys go through the obstacle course to get to the other side. There are many options for the objective to this game: racing, a relay race, trying to get to the other side without actually touching the yarn, or you could add an extra challenge by gathering objects throughout the obstacle course. The possibilities are endless!
Rainy Day Activity!
- green paint and foam paint brush
- black and yellow crayons/markers
- construction paper
- tray for footprint!
What you'll do:
- take the foam paint brush and use it to paint green paint on the bottom of a foot and have your preschooler step on the construction paper!
- Use markers or crayons to draw the wheels and details of the tractor, use different size bottle caps to outline the tractor and make it creative!
- Have a fantastic time doing this with your family!
Rainy (or Sunny) Day Activity!Pond Nature Walk | |
It's so much fun to go out with a magnifying glass to take a closer look at the nature in the area. You could also make a scavenger hunt of possible things to look for and check them off the list as you explore!
Some things to look for are:
- frogs
- butterflies and dragonflies
- lily pads
- ants
- fish
- squirrels
- interesting plants
The possibilities are endless and it really is a great activity to do in the rain or shine, its interesting to see how nature changes depending on the weather!
