This week we learned all about pets! We talked about different types of animals and what makes them a great or not very common pets. There were many fun table activities and everyone had so much fun during our other centers! Join us and take a look at our eventful week! Group Activities! Many of the preschoolers have a love for animals making it so fun to learn about them this week! We went around the circle and discussed which animals made great and not so great pets and why. During our group time we made an animal out of a variety of shapes and colors of paper and other materials. The hidden goal of these abstract cats was for the preschoolers to follow specific directions! It was a pretty challenging activity! In the hallway we had a fun activity of choosing a patterned sock and going into the dog house to find the missing match! Table Activities! We had some really exciting table activities this week that the preschoolers enjoyed! At the art table we made a bird cage by cutting paper and decorated our own bird to keep in it! We also created cat faces, and pet fish in a fish bowl. At the science table we were vets! There were animals who needed check ups so we measured, weighed and examined them to check their health. We also got to explore different types of pet food and guess what kind of pet ate that food. We made pet poem books at the language table and also played an alphabet letter "feed the pet" game.
