Group Activities! This week during our group activities the preschoolers got to make their own underground ant farm! They got into groups with their queen ant, and started by designing their above ground scene with crayons. Then they finger painted the underground side and used their fingers to create lines and swirls making the ants paths! We also reviewed sequencing where the preschoolers cut and glued numbers in sequence, and then cut and glued the sequence of the "itsy bitsy spider" song!. Table Activities! At the science table we had different insects that the preschoolers observed with a magnifying glass, and then drew what they look like onto paper! We also made a butterfly life cycle using pasta noodles to represent different stages and also reviewed the butterfly life cycle by creating our own "stages" pop up book. At the language table, we cut and glued pictures of insects onto the corresponding name. At the art table, we made hungry, hungry caterpillars by dipping balloons into green paint and then sponging it onto paper to create its body! We also created some bees with tissue paper, and used our fingers again to create our own bugs inside a bug jar. Other Centers!Rainy Day Activity!Butterflies!
