Group Activities! This week we learned about safety and what we can do to keep our bodies healthy! We talked about germs and how they make us unhealthy. We demonstrated how germs transfer by having two pieces of bread, one straight from the bag, and another that was passed around the room and touched by each preschooler. Now we will wait and see how our germs affected the bread! We made our own germs by first blowing paint through straws, and then adding eyes and other materials! The next day we learned how to keep ourselves safe! We also had fun gross motor stations set up where we tossed balls, crawled through a tunnel holding balloons, balanced, learned how to somersault and practiced the steps to "stop drop and roll." In the hallway we walked on different materials in our bare feet and talked about how they feel. Table Activities! This week we did many fun activities focusing on our health and safety! At the science table we talked about and sorted items that would be hot vs cold, as well as foods that are good and bad for our teeth. For language, we practiced teeth brushing by matching upper and lowercase letters. We also identified tools that we use to help keep our bodies safe or healthy, and how we use them. At the art table, we made a Mr Potato Head 5 senses craft, traffic lights, and first aid kits. Busy week! Other Centers!Throughout the rest of the classroom this week we had a ton of fun playing with our friends! We played board games, explored in the sensory table, and enjoyed fantasy play in the kitchen and house as usual!
