This week, we learned all about different modes of transportation! By boat, by plane, by train, by bike, or by car... Transportation is all around us! Learning and DiscoveryWe had a blast during all our group activities! Our weekly skill was letter sequencing, so on Tuesday, we got to practice putting letters in order and even making a few words! On Wednesday, we experimented with our gross motor skills. We were challenged to pick up three large balls and walk through a maze... without dropping ANY of the balls. It was really tough, but three of our preschool friends managed to do it! :) On Thursday, we used cut-out paper shapes to make a picture of our favorite mode of transportation. We worked with our high school buddy to make the picture together. At the end, our high school friends helped us write what type of transportation we had made (boat, train, plane, etc.) and where we would travel to in it. We were all very creative and did a great job! Action Packed FunWe had so much fun this week playing in the hall! After getting our "Drivers License," we hit the road! We loved driving all the different cars and bikes, turning around at the stop sign, and coming back to the starting line. We also had a great time racing our preschool friends around and around the track! Our high school friends even got in on the fun! ;) Free TimeMy Oh My, we did so many exciting transportation themed stations this week! On Tuesday, at the Art Table, we made a train out of paper, and wrote our name on it. At the Science table, we made buildings out of Magna-Tiles, while we practiced spelling transportation themed words (such as "Car", and "Bus", and "Plane") at the Language Table. On Wednesday, we made a map at the Art Table. We glued landmarks onto a paper and then using a car (with paint on it's wheels), connected all of the destinations. At the Science and Creation table we made boats out of foam and then raced them in a HUGE bowl of water. At the Language table, we had so much fun matching toy cars (with lower case and upper case letters on their backs). On Thursday, we once again played with Magna-Tiles and made more boats (this was too much fun and we needed one more day!), while we created license plates at the Art Table.
