Group Activities! This weeks theme was the great outdoors, and we had a ton of fun learning and exploring new things! We brought in a camping backpack and each preschooler helped pack a camping material for teacher Alexa, and we discussed what it would be used for in the great outdoors. We put together puzzles of animals and made binoculars which we then took on a scavenger hunt to find their paw prints and other signs of these animals on our way out to the playground! We also played a fun team gross motor game as a class! Table Activities! This week we did many fun activities! At the art table we had textured sponges which we decorated our binoculars with! We had a fun forest painting where the preschoolers sponged colored paint onto paper with scotch tape "trees" and then wiped away some of the paint to reveal tree shapes. We made camp fires by stamping the preschoolers hands with paint as the fire and tearing brown paper to create sticks and wood. We also made raccoon masks! At the language table we had a fun I Spy worksheet of different camping materials and practiced writing our numbers. The preschoolers also used sticks to spell out their names! At the science table we made imprints of different plants and nature objects into dough. We also used rice cakes to create a yummy treat for our backyard birds! Other Centers! The preschoolers loved playing in the tent during free play! Just For Fun!Rainy Day Activity!Campfire!
