It's almost Thanksgiving everyone! Since this holiday is coming up we decided to learn more about it and how we celebrate with our families! Take a look at all the fun we had this week learning about different foods/cultures and also all the things we are thankful for! Group Activities! We had a wide variety of group activities this week. In groups, we passed around food options while practicing manners. As we created our own thanksgiving meal by gluing foods that we wanted onto our plates, we also had to practice words like "please pass the...," "may I have the...," and of course, "Thank you!" We had lots of fun experimenting with popcorn seeds to see if we could create colored popcorn. We all looked at and felt some Indian corn cobs and talked about the colors. We went to tables and got to mix popcorn seeds with food coloring until thoroughly colored. We predicted what we thought would happen when the seeds were popped, and then we witnessed the results! The popcorn remained white! However, we could see a hint of color inside the popcorn. On Thursday, we wrapped up our fun week with a cooking activity and in small groups worked together to make pumpkin muffins! Yum! Free Play!So much fun during Free Play with our friends! Painting together, playing restaurant, blocks and exploring the sensory table! Table Activities! At the tables we practiced our counting with cranberries, picked seeds from sunflowers learned thanksgiving food terms and beginning letter sounds and created another thanksgiving meal just the way we wanted it to be! Many of these activities helped us work on our fine motors skills using scissors, scooping, gluing and more! Birthdays! We also celebrated T's 4th Birthday as everyone sang to her! Happy Birthday!
