Oh boy, we had so many fun science experiments this week! Outside of our classroom, going to OMSI was a great way to finish off our super science week- We'll be sharing pictures of the exciting activities we enjoyed there soon! Learning and DiscoveryWe had so much fun with our group activities! In our "gravity drop" challenge, we got to drop different items to see which one hit the ground first. We also did a science rotation exploring water and air displacement, static electricity, and magnets! We got to see what sticks to a balloon by using friction to create static, we used magnets to pick up different objects, and we also placed a napkin in the bottom of a cup, then tipped it over and put the cup all the way underwater, and when we took our cup back out, the napkin was still dry! We love science! Free TimeWe got to do a lot of fun experiments and activities during free time this week! We got to see how oil, water, salt, and food coloring mix together, we put paint on cars, rubber balls and rocks and then let them roll/slide down our paper to make a cool "gravity art" design. We also practiced spelling words like science, observe, and heat. We also got to mix a few ingredients like baking soda, vinegar, and food coloring to marble paper. Another fun activity was to practice making our letters by stretching rubber bands, and we practiced numbers by comparing the weights of different objects and writing down how much they weigh. In the hallway, preschoolers used paper plates to create wind to "blow" their items in a race down the hallway! They also played a game involving gravity with balloons. Each balloon had different items inside to create different weights. Preschoolers played with them and observed how the different objects affected the balloons. What a busy week! Candid Moments
