This weeks theme was spring! The official start of Spring has arrived and as the weather is beginning to change (sort of..??), we took the opportunity to learn about this beautiful season! We did many fun crafts and group activities this week! Come take a look at what a great week we had! Group Activities! At morning circle, we read a book called "Ooh-La La, Polka Dot Boots!" Then, as a class, we practiced our cutting skills by making a creative rain boot of our own! The preschoolers chose what materials they wanted to use to do so! In the hallway we had fun playing with jump rope and hula hoops! We also worked in small groups to determine which types of clothing we would wear in each season. Then we sorted them on a class chart! Table Activities! We did many fun table activities this week! At the art table we painted sunny rainbows using colors of tissue paper, googly eyes, and a smile! We also made flowers by stamping petals on stems and matching our paint color to the color written on the stem! We made rainbows by finger painting and also used a pray bottle to create a "rainy day" scene! We talked about what we like to do on rainy days. There was a fun craft at our science table of making a chick hatching out of its egg where we used yellow fluffy shaving cream paint! At the science table we also learned about rain clouds with a food coloring rain cloud activity! We practiced identifying, matching, and sounding out our letters by doing a letter tile activity and a clothespin matching activity at the language table! Miss Anne taught some preschoolers a cool technique of drip painting at the easel as well. Other Centers! The preschoolers had a ton of fun engaging in dramatic play in the house and kitchen! It is so fun to see their friendships continuing to develop. Digging for gold in the grassy sensory table was also a popular choice! Just For Fun!Rainy Day Activity!Spring Flowers!
