This week was a blast! We learned a lot about pumpkins and fall, and even went to a Pumpkin Patch! Note: this picture was taken right when we got there...before the rain!! Learning and DiscoveryThough we didn't get a picture, this week, Preschoolers learned what was inside of a pumpkin. Each preschooler was then able to practice cutting and gluing to make their own pumpkin. They even were able to use string and other materials so simulate what a pumpkin looked like inside. They had a lot of fun! Free TimeDuring free time, we continued to learn about pumpkins. At the language table, we organized alphabet pumpkins in order on a vine. Many of us are just starting to identify our upper case letters. For those who found that too easy, we had them do it with lower case letters. At our art table, we used strips of brown paper to construct a fence and then used our fingers to add little pumpkins on it. In addition to our learning tables, we had so much fun playing with all our friends. We read books, played games, did puzzles, made crafts, and so much more! Pumpkin PatchEven though it was rainy outside, that didn't stop us from going on our first Preschool Field trip to Plumper's Pumpkin Patch! After taking a fun bus ride, we got to learn all about pumpkins from one of the Farmers. She showed us a ton of different varieties of pumpkins. Some pumpkins even had funny names like the "Cinderella" pumpkin, the "Jack Be Little" pumpkin, and even a pumpkin called "Red Warty Thing". That's it's actual name too! We then got to pet all of the animals. They had goats, cows, alpacas, chickens, and even some sheep and a new baby lamb that was only 5 DAYS OLD! She was so cute. After that, we went on a Hay Ride around the Pumpkin Patch. It was so cool to see all of the fun things they grew at the farm. Once we were done with that, we played on the playground. We went down the slides, climbed on the hay bales, went pumpkin bowling, and maybe got a little muddy. ;) We then picked out our own little pumpkin! After a quick lunch, we got on the bus and went home. Some of our high school and preschool friends were so tired that they fell asleep on the bus! All in all, it was a super fun day! Candid Moments
