Pumpkin Patch! On our field trip to the pumpkin patch we did many fun things! We first learned about the farm and all of the different crops, animals and pumpkins they grow! Next we got to look at all of the farm animals such as bunnies and goats. After we took a ride on the tractor and saw the Christmas trees and other parts of the farm. Next we went to the playground where there were big slides, mazes, pumpkin bowling, and a spider web to climb on. Finally we went to the field and picked a pumpkin! What a great day it was!! Group Activities!During our group activities we explored the inside of pumpkins and learned all about the seeds and other materials that are found on the inside! We practiced our cutting skills to cut out a pumpkin craft. On our craft, we used seeds and cut yarn to replicate the inside of our pumpkin! Table Activities! We had many different fall and pumpkin activities at our table activities this week! At our science table we put leaves under a piece of paper and used a crayon to trace them leaving the veins of the leaf on our paper! At our art table we had different shapes of pumpkins signifying different face shapes, and with those pumpkins we designed our faces with cut outs of features of the face and other materials. At another art table we had a fun water color painting activity! There were pictures of pumpkins with previously drawn faces of different emotions in white crayon. It was the preschoolers job to watercolor paint on the pumpkin to discover and identify the facial expression! We also had large cutouts of pumpkins where we could paint faces on them! Other Centers! This week during our other centers we played with tubes and connected them to phones to talk to our friends, explored in the sensory table, and played in the house! We also played a game of pumpkin bowling where we tried to knock down the pins with small pumpkins! Just For Fun!Rainy Day Activity!Mixing bowl
