(Above - acting out animals!) This week we learned all about pets and different kind of animals! We learned about animals that we think make good pets and those that are better left in the wild or on the farm! The weekly skill for this week was numbers and we practiced them along with our animal activities throughout the week! Join us and take a look at our fun and busy week! Circle Time!During circle time we learned about different birds, read a book about Murphy the dog, and we also decided which animals we thought would make a good pet and placed it on a class chart. Free Play!During free play we explored the sensory table which resembled where a hamster would live! We also painted on the easle, counted with blocks, read books with our friends, played in the kitchen and house and built puzzles! Our dramatic play area had some stuffed animal guests visiting this week. We enjoyed playing with our temporary pets all over the classroom. Our playhouse was often transformed into a Vet clinic! Hallway Activities!Out in the hallway we continued to work on our gross motor skills and this week did some hula hooping, stairs, and an obstacle course matching socks! Table Activities! At the table activities we learned about different animals by playing matching games, coloring fish, and making our very own pet book! At one of our science tables, we got to explore different pet foods and guess which pet ate which food. You won't believe what one of the dishes had....crickets!! After learning about birds as pets, we made parrots at the tables and gave them fun pet names. Throughout all these projects we practiced our fine motor skills by painting, gluing, cutting and more! Other photos from the week!Thank you everyone for a successful week and we hope everyone learned lots! We now know of so many more animals that live in our world and how they are all unique! We can continue to learn more about different animals but simply looking whats around and by going to places such as the zoo! Join us next week as we learn about rainbows! Have a great week! Rainy Day Activity!
