This week we learned all about insects! We talked about ladybugs, grasshoppers, bees, butterfly's and more! We had several different ways of learning about these insects, such as creating art that replicated a certain insect so we could learn about the different body parts, using magnifying glasses to examine different bugs that were in containers and also playing games such as bug bingo! Join us and take a look at our exciting week! Group Activities! We had a blast during the group activities this week as we created underground ant communities and butterfly art! For the ant trails we used brown finger paint and raisin "ants" and used our fingers to draw them across the paper to create little trails that ants in real life would make! For the butterfly's we used different colored tissue paper to glue onto our butterfly outline. They are beautiful in flight! Table Activities!During the table activities we created symmetrical butterfly paintings, played bug bingo, learned about the parts of a lady bug and distinguished between the shell and the wings. At the science table we had the chance to explore real bugs! They were not alive and kept in containers and we used magnifying glasses to closely see the different body parts of each insect so that we could draw them! Free Play!Lots of fun during free play we got to build blocks and play cars with our teachers! We also painted and explored the sensory table that was filled with sand! Hallway Activities! We had a super fun game in the hallway that included Duck Duck Goose and an obstacle course! Lots of fun and running around with teacher Lupe! Other photos from the week!Thank you everyone for a successful week we hope everyone learned lots about insects and continue to learn more about them by simply exploring outside! Rainy Day Activity
