We begin this weeks theme with Insects!! To introduce some of our free play activities the preschoolers were shown a book about caterpillars and other cool insects. Mrs. Anne explained what insects are and where we might find them living! Of course in-between our small lesson on insects the boys were having fun as well! The neat thing about this morning's book was the preschoolers got to see the sequence of a caterpillars life and how it grows into a butterfly which ties into our weekly skill of "Sequence of Events" Free play begins with lots of fun Insect activities!
Our baby chick eggs have arrived as well! They are in an incubator and all the kids can come by and take a peak. They'll be hatching roughly around the end of the month. Stay tuned to see our baby chicks!!
Teacher Lucia had a fun science activity that had the preschoolers make their very own caterpillar life cycle into a butterfly! Some highlights of the day! On thursday we started the morning by celebrating our April birthdays! Katie had the show and tell bag and brought back a cute little minnie mouse toy! For free play the day continued into more fun activities learning about insects and their homes!
