Back to School with Shapes and ColorsOur first week of the school year was a raging sucess! Our kids arrived ready to learn, and some of our kids were just learning the ropes of going to school. We have a great class of preschoolers this year - many more girls than boys, but lots of diverse personalities and abilities, which makes for a great little community. Let me share a few of the things that we did this first week of school! After introductions by Mrs. Anne, free play kept kids busy with digging and scooping shapes in the sensory table, shape stamping with various items from our room, cutting and gluing at the creation table, matching activities, and making shapes with Q-tips. Group art shape creations: It was fun to read what the kids said about their creations! Let's look at some of the important daily tasks our preschoolers practiced...We got to know, and bond with, our teachers! We learned how to stand in line and walk places safely. We learned about our important daily jobs, which we will all get a turn in doing...ask your child what their job was each day after school! Other jobs not seen: weather bear, pet care, snack bag, book bag, door holder, line leader...and when we don't have a job, we are always a friend! We practiced teamwork and cooperation by playing a game with a partner. Didn't see your kiddo on here? Don't worry, we will be posting for every week of preschool if we can. There will be plenty of pictures taken and rest assured that your child was a part of all of the action - otherwise we'd let you know! :)
