For this week, our main focus was the season Fall. We explored all the different colors, smells, textures, and other things that make Fall so special! What makes Fall different from other seasons? Mrs. Anne starts the week by exploring that question with the class. Below you can see teacher Evelyn's group art on Monday. She had a very neat, and very open-ended, activity that let the preschoolers express their thoughts on Fall. Everyone's viewpoint was a little different and hearing them share their thoughts was a lot of fun! Teacher Terri taught us a wonderful song about fall! In this song we learned that raking leaves, picking pumpkins, putting on sweaters, and leaves changing colors that make crunchy sounds all mean it is fall! "Fa-la-la-la-la, Fa-la-la Fall!" Throughout the day we continued to do lots of fun activities! On Wednesday we continued to express the theme of Fall to our preschoolers! |
This activity is super great since you can create a memory keepsake in the process! You will need… 1) Black cardboard paper 2) Paper as a background for handprint 3) Finger paint 4) Dry leaves 5) Glue For you and preschooler you can create this awesome project where you get a keepsake and your child can have some fun using finger paint! Have your child cover their hand in the finger paint and make a handprint on the normal piece of paper. After that glue the paper on the black cardboard paper. Once all of that is dry have your child help frame the handprint with the dry leaves by using glue. Go ahead and get even more creative with maybe some small twigs or glueing the leaves around the cardboard! |
