To start off this week, Teacher AJ introduced the preschoolers with an exciting game of Simon Says that involved lots of wild movement. How does this tie into our theme? Well, part of being healthy means to be active! For the preschoolers group art on Monday teacher Kimberly demonstrated how we should have clean teeth, and what better way to keep our teeth then by brushing them! Continuing the day, our wonderful preschoolers learned about the five senses and how to stay healthy! Students got to taste different foods, and even take off their shoes and socks to have a sensory experience with their feet! Our second circle time activity was a fun way to understand which foods are considered healthy and which aren't! The preschoolers were split into groups where they were able to look at images of food and discuss them. The kids had to decide whether or not they thought that type of food was healthy. Our kids are really smart - and they love food! Many of the preschoolers suggested that the majority of the foods that were considered unhealthy had too much sugar, salt or grease! |
For this weeks rainy activity, how about trying an indoor volleyball match! Now this may seem absurd but a volleyball game with balloons is loads of fun! All you will need for this fun game is balloons, two chairs, and some ribbon. Instead of a real volleyball blow up some balloons and tie a ribbon against to chairs as the net. Now that your court is set up begin the game! This is a fun way to your preschooler active using their energy while having fun even if it is raining outside! |
