This week we learned about all sorts of different careers that people have such as doctors, firefighters, construction workers and more! We learned about these jobs by creating some of the materials they might use, clothing they might wear and learning words that relate to that career! Join us and take a look at our fun and busy week! Circle time!During circle time our color detective, M., gathered up several yellow items and showed them to the class! (very left picture). We also had show and tell and one of our new friends, C., brought in Peppa Pig! (middle picture). Our last picture shows our weather detective, S., figuring out what the weather was like that day! We also have many other jobs that are shared among our friends such as gardener, librarian, and line leader! Because the kids kept asking every day for a job, we decided to add to our job chart so that now there is a job for every child, every day!! Free Play! This week during free play we had our usual center activities such as playing kitchen, dress up, blocks, Legos and playing at the sensory table! As you can see there was an additional activity, playing doctor with Ms. Anne and our friends! Hallway Activities!Continuing to work on our gross motor skills this week by practicing our jump roping, hopscotch, balance beams, and hula hoops! Table Activities! At our table activities this week we did some cool science experiments. We pretended to be construction workers and built creations with paper cups, and we practiced the job of a scientist by following a set of directions to conduct a chemical reaction experiment! Goggles on for safety! We also created a tool belt at the art table where we learned what construction workers use on the job! At the language and creation table we focused on jobs such as a policemen, garbage man, and nursing and discussed with teachers what we would like to be when we grow up! Throughout all these experiments and crafts we continued to develop our fine motor skills such as cutting with scissors, writing/coloring with markers, and gluing! A few more photos from this week! Thank you everyone for a great week and we hope everyone learned a lot about different careers and hopefully found one they enjoyed learning about! Join us next week as we take on the theme of Special Delivery / Postal Service! Rainy Day Activity! To Make :
1. From the black construction paper, cut out a rectangle for the doctor’s bag as well as two handles. Fold the black rectangle in half to make the bag. Glue the handles onto the bag. 2. Cut out two thin rectangles from the red construction paper and glue together to make a ‘red cross’. 3. Cut out a white circle and glue your ‘red cross’ on. Glue the circle and cross onto your bag. 4. Open the bag and glue/tape all of your medical supplies into the bag.
