To start off the week the preschoolers were introduced to the different homes people live in around the world! During circle time, they talked about different homes, and then the kids were split into groups to talk about what kind of house they wanted to build, and were able to choose different types of materials to create their own homes together. As the day went on the kids also learned about the chinese calendar and found out, depending on their birthday, what animal they represent. Our preschoolers were all either a rabbit, a tiger, or a dragon! Lots of exciting activities were open for our preschoolers to test out! Continuing our week… we celebrated our two December birthdays! Happy birthday girls! Our seniors have been bringing in all sorts of diverse and fascinating materials into our classroom! You can see some new dress up and kitchen items in the above pictures, as well as inspiring structural pictures from around the world for our block area, decorations for our classroom, games for our game center, books for our library and display shelves, and pictures to put around our room. Thanks seniors!! |
Since our theme this week was all about learning new cultures around the world I figured a great indoor activity to try out with your preschooler would to be try to make a new dinner dish! Below are a couple of links that will send you to websites that have quick simple dishes that you can try out! Cooking with your kids is SO much fun, and they will be much more willing to eat to what they help make! Or at least TRY it!! |
