Group Activities! This week we learned many new things about places around the world! Miss Anne brought in some special dolls made from husks, and a very different type of ball from Africa. Everyone was able to touch the items and we talked about how they are different and similar to the dolls and toys that we typically play with. We then traveled in small groups to play different games from around the world. We played a marble shooting game, a top spinning game, a color sorting sombrero game, and a straw jumping game. How fun! We also made winter lanterns, inspired by a variety of cultures who make wishes and light their lanterns to float up into the sky. The preschoolers made a winter wish to attach to their lantern. Wait and see at the winter party! Table Activities! At the art table we learned about symmetry while we made African masks out of paper plates and an assortment of materials such as feathers and pom pom balls. The preschoolers made maracas by filling paper plates with their choice of sounds making items, such as beans, cereal, rice, etc. They used watercolor paint to decorate the outside. We played a game that included rolling a dice and then trying to pick up that many objects using chop sticks. At one of our language tables, we learned about the places that are important to us, such as our school, city, state, country, and of course...planet earth! We painted flags and tried our best to use careful hands to paint some Chinese winter words! That was tough! Other Centers!During our other centers this week we had a lot of fun playing with our friends! We had some doctors helping their patient and chefs cooking tasty food for us to enjoy! Birthdays! In the month of December we have one birthday! Happy Birthday Alex! Rainy Day Activity!Dream Catchers!
