This week, we learned all about the Arctic and the animals that live there through science experiments, art projects, and fun "arctic-y" activities! Learning and DiscoveryThis week, we did so many fun arctic themed activities. On Tuesday, we worked with our high school buddies to make a walrus craft. Preschoolers used a variety of materials to represent the different parts of their walrus. They turned out so cute! On Wednesday, we practiced our letters! Since we finished learning the alphabet this week (With the letters "x", "y", and"z"), we now know how each of the letters sound! Our high school friends show us a flashcard with a picture on it and then we would have to say what the picture was, then identify what letter the word started with. For example, "Apron" starts with "A"! On Thursday, we had a SNOWBALL FIGHT! The "snow" was only paper balls, but it was still fun to pretend! :) Free TimeAt free time, we had the chance to do many stations and do fun arctic activities! At the art table, we painted a picture to look like the Northern Lights, painted a Polar Bear face with fluffy paint, and made a penguin out of construction paper! For science, we did a fun animal matching activity, felt some "snowy" slime, and experimented with melting ice cubes. At the language table, we got the chance to write Thank You notes to Ms. Amy, and do some fun penguin themed letter activities. At the sensory table, we replaced our fall leaves for some winter themed materials (like "snow", cotton balls, arctic animals, etc.). We are really getting in the winter spirit at Preschool! Candid MomentsBirthdaysWe celebrated our Winter Break birthdays this week!
Happy Birthday Kelsee, Lucia, and Ross!
