This week we learned about America and Dr. Seuss! We did many fun things this week including watching a movie as a class in our pajamas and having a green eggs and ham lunch! Take a look at what a great week we had! Group Activities! Our theme was America so we discussed presidents and the way they get voted into office. We had our own class vote between having cereal or popcorn for a snack during our movie! Each preschooler filled out their own ballot and after an exciting ballot count and tally, popcorn ended up winning the vote! We also learned about money and how our money looks different than money from other places around the world. On Dr. Seuss' birthday we made a prediction about whether or not we thought we would like the green eggs and ham and then of course tested that by eating them for lunch! In the hallway we played a balance game of trying to keep bean bags balanced on our heads. We had to make it back to our other teammates as fast as we could so the next person could go! Table Activities! This week we did many fun table activities relating to America and Dr. Seuss! At the language table they sorted through green eggs with upper case and lower case letter halves on them and tried to find the matching halves! There was an activity of scrambled letters of words such as flag and freedom, and it was the preschoolers job to look at the letters and match them to unscramble them! They also made the cat in the hat's hat with rhyming words! At the creation table they made their own Lorax mustaches! At the art table we made red and white stars with contact paper and toilet paper tube log cabins for America. Based off "Oh the Places You'll Go" we painted hot air balloons and decided a place we would go in it and also painted truffula trees with circle sponges to add texture like the real trees! Other Centers! This week we had fun working together to build towers with blocks and Legos! The preschoolers also enjoyed sorting through plastic Easter eggs! Just For Fun!We went around the class and each preschooler got to show their fun pajamas and what stuffed animal or blanket they brought! The preschoolers discovered new foods as they tried the green eggs and ham. Most of them enjoyed the cake pop truffula trees the best! Rainy Day Activity!Leopard Puppets!
