This week we learned about family, our roles in our family, and how we can help around the house. We also practiced some self help skills this week and are encouraging preschoolers to keep practicing these skills when they come to school each day! You can help reinforce these skills that we have been working on. For example, putting our lunch in our lunch cubby when we arrive to school, taking off and putting on our own jackets, and hanging bags and jackets on our hooks. We did many crafts that represent our family this week, and lots of other fun activities too! Learning and DiscoveryIn our group activities, we got to make a graph of who lives in our house with us. Every preschooler got a turn to identify who they had in their house and chose a dot to glue to represent those members. (You can see in the hallway!) We practiced folding laundry, tying our shoes, zipping our jackets, and buttoning. You can ask your preschooler to show you some of these skills at home! Free TimeDuring free time, one craft that we did was to make a family mosaic ornaments. Each color represented a different family member. We drew pictures of our families and decorated a house frame, learned how to take care of and wash a baby, and practiced hanging up laundry to dry. We got to match animal babies to their mothers to practice our upper and lowercase letters. We also practiced writing the names sister, brother, mom, dad, pets, etc. Then we glued them onto a headband to show our family. Candid Moments
